Welcome! This is a new weekly recap that encapsulates what I experienced as a developer this week, featuring the latest in artificial intelligence news, useful resources, notable open source projects, engaging polls, and pivotal historical moments. I also provide updates on my app’s development and explore how AI creates digital art.

So.. let’s go!

📊 Thursday’s Poll | Mobile OS 📱

This week’s poll is about the mobile OS used by people.

What is the operating system of your mobile device? Android, iOS or other?

  • Android
  • iOS
  • Other

The poll results indicate that 86% of respondents identify as Android users, while the remaining 14% prefer iOS. It’s worth noting that the sample size not accurately represent the broader market share, but it’s not far from the real data. According to recent market research, Android holds a dominant market share of around 70%, while iOS accounts for approximately 30%.

📜 Friday’s Historic Moment | Margaret Hamilton 👩‍🔬

Friday March 8th was International Women’s Day, we celebrate Margaret Hamilton, the computer science pioneer whose work revolutionized space exploration. Her leadership in developing the code for the Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) made it possible for mankind to reach the Moon.

Thie following image shows her next to the stacks of code that made the achievement possible, a symbol of women’s ingenuity and determination in science and technology.

📱 Saturday’s App Update | Data Export Feature 📤

Last week, I added a feature to my app allowing users to export data from the local database to a CSV file.

This is part of an effort to provide backup functionality. Additionally, plans are underway to implement an import function for data restoration, offering users a comprehensive backup solution.

This week I refined the data export function I implemented last week, adding a notification that shows the CSV file containing the data.

🖼️ Sunday’s AI Art | Celestis 🪐

This week’s AI art is Celestis, an imaginary world thought by ChatGPT and painted by DALL·E.

Here’s the prompt used for generating the image:

Visualize a world where the fantastical and the technological are indistinguishably intertwined. In the center, a neon jungle throbs with life, its trees glowing with vibrant hues of blue, pink, and green, casting an ethereal light on the creatures that dwell within. Above, the sky is alive with the vibrant streaks of airships leaving trails of light, while floating islands dot the horizon, each connected to the ground below by glowing, ethereal chains. The scene is set against the backdrop of a twilight sky, painted with the colors of two setting suns and the rise of three moons, their light reflecting off the surface of towering crystal mountains in the distance. Celestis is a realm where the everyday is magical, and the landscape itself tells a story of harmony between nature and innovation, inviting adventurers to explore its mysteries and marvels.

That’s all for this week, see you soon! 👋
